Today was one of those days where you probably were annoyed by someone, said a few cursing words under your breath, felt like yelling, or even told yourself “I can’t do this anymore”. If any of those things describe your mood for the day, you are more than likely experiencing Anxiety. Anxiety is one of the most underrated and misinterpreted mental illnesses that many people find it hard to acknowledge. Those things that were previously mentioned are the simplest forms of anxiety that have simple calming mechanisms to help resolve those negative feelings. Here are some suggestions listed below.
Engage in deep breathing, 10 second inhale, 10 second exhale.
Count to 30, this help to calm your heart rate and clear your mind as well.
Listen to a cheerful song, music is a therapeutic way to release mental stressors.
Redirect your negative thoughts with positive affirmations.
Write down your feelings, sometimes writing is the best therapy.
The next time you’re feeling like you can’t do this anymore, remember that is just your anxiety speaking and try some of the coping mechanisms to get you back on track!!
